Re: Key Performance Areas / Key Result Areas

Key Result area is a broader term and may consist more than one key performance area. Let us take one example. 'Effective Implementation of Performance Management System 'can be a key result area .Often these are effectiveness parameters. where as key performance area may consist (1) Deployment of PMS across the levels (2)Training of Appraiser and appraisee(3)Intime rewards (4)Employee satisfaction score on PMS. These are often efficiency parameters.

I hope this clarifies the issue to some extent.

Re: Key Performance Areas / Key Result Areas

These two words are used interchangeably by corporates.

A differentiation would certainly help.

Key Performance Areas: The standards of the performance in terms of efforts / time and money (read budget) to be put in by an employee.

Key Results Areas: Set of results to be achieved in order to achieve the strategic goals of the company. The goals of course would be broken up to departmental / divisional goals.

Re: Key Performance Areas / Key Result Areas

Hello friends,

As far as my best knowledge goes it should be be Key Performance Initiatives and not Key performance areas. Then you would be able to differentiate it easily too

KPI means what are the initiatives an individual takes. Shows Motivation levels

KRA is things that are part of an individuals Job Requirements

Warm Regards,
