Re: Promoting Innovation in Organization
To harness creativity, please start with Quality Circles. Lot if info is available on this subject on the internet.

Re: Promoting Innovation in Organization
Dear shantanuji,
I had come across a nice book by Tom Peters: The Circle of Innovation: You can't shrink your way to Greatness. He was the co-author of "In Search of Excellence".
The book entitled Circle of Innovation is appropriate for all readers: "No matter where you are in your career, this book is a must read. The younger your thinking the more you'll get out of it".
"Creative thinkers like Tom are different from the rest of us. They see what we overlook. Tom takes an idea and turns into what others can't. He turns learning organizations into forgetting organizations. He turns change management into an exercise in destruction. He turns hotel housekeepers into Michealangelos.
The Circle of Innovation is the overreaching idea which animates this book. Here is a quick preview of the 15 stops along the way....
1. Distance is Dead 2. Destruction is cool (He talks abt CDO, chief destruction officer) 3. You can't live without an eraser (Forgetting, not learning, is the highest art) 4. We are all Michealangelos 5. Welcome to the white-collar revolution 6. All value comes from the Professional Services 7. The Intermediary is doomed. 8. The system is the solution. 9. Creates waves of lust. 10. Tommy Hilfiger Knows (age of the brand) 11.Become a Connoisseur of talent (Recruit Diversity) 12. It is a woman's world. 13. Little things are the only things 14. Love all, Serve all 15. We are here to life life out loud.
Further, I read a book on How to Get Ideas, by Jack Foster. A very nice book on ideation. I strongly believe, that whatever the level at which a person is presently in an organization, he can always innovate, engage in ideation, add value to the process or outcomes etc. senthil

Re: Promoting Innovation in Organization
To encourage the innovative ideas , and also implementation of such ideas , we can use tools such as Kaizen, SGA/Quality circle, Problom solving tools etc. First thing we can do is to spread the awareness of the tools by providing them training on the concept, practicle usage, and carrying out some table top exercise on the problem of their area, dummy exercise of Quality circles also useful, take the group to participate in Quality circle Compitiion or Kaizen Competition. That will helps the group to identify their problems, devlops brain storming among them to identify probable causes and finding out root cause .i also reccomend to involve the middle level executive, having knowlege of using Problem solving tools, and that can facilitate and helps the team to lead them in right direction.
